Frequently Asked Questions

Where are you located?
We are at 605 East Boulevard in the Dilworth area of Charlotte, North Carolina.

When do I need to arrive?
Worship is usually Sunday mornings at 8:45 am in Terry Chapel and 11:00 am in the Sanctuary.   We have one combined service at 10 am during the month of July.

Where do I park?
Our main parking lot is behind the church, accessible from Springdale Avenue.  Parking is also available in front of the church along East Boulevard.  Special needs parking and guest parking is available in this lot.  If all parking spaces are full, you may parallel park along the streets surrounding the church.

How do I find my way?
Greeters are stationed at the entrance to Terry Chapel (8:45 am worship service) and the Narthex of the Sanctuary (11:00 am worship service).  If you enter through the doors off the back parking lot into the Jones Building, there will be signs directing you to the Sanctuary.  You may also ask anyone and they will be happy to help you and your family find your way.

What do I wear?
Come comfortably.  Some of our attendees wear ‘Sunday Best’, but most wear comfortable clothes.  Don’t worry about what you wear – just come to worship God and get to know us.

What do I bring?
You can bring your Bible if you have one.  While each of our worship services is Bible-based, Bibles are provided in the Sanctuary pews for your convenience.

What opportunities are available for my children on Sunday mornings?
Dilworth United Methodist has excellent programs for children on Sundays and throughout the year including Children’s Sunday School, Nursery and Children’s Church.

Where do I take my children on Sunday and how do you ensure the safety of my child?
Our nursery is located in the Children's Building.  Child security is taken very seriously at Dilworth United Methodist.  Our nursery is staffed by a member of our staff and volunteers. Everyone working with nursery age, children and youth is require to go through our Safe Sanctuary Training, which includes training sessions and a background check.  Also, all nursery parents are given a restaurant style pager in case they are needed while their child is in the nursery.
