The mission of Dilworth United Methodist Church strives to be a sign of Christ’s love for the world, starting right here in our local community and then reaching beyond. We celebrate our legacy built over the last 125 years of being a progressive and welcoming community in the heart of Dilworth, living out the truth that God’s grace-filled gift of love is abundant for all folks. We hold to the truths of central Christian teachings and truly work to build strong foundations of faith. We strive to live into what it means to be a church with “open hearts, open minds and open doors” and “doing all the good you can in all the ways you can”. We believe this so much that you will see those very words etched in stone above the main entrance of the Jones building.

We hope that you will worship with us and connect with folks on a journey. Know that you are welcome to be a part of family who strives to a sign of Christ’s love for the world.

Our Vision

Together we will build stronger, more faithful and engaging connections with GOD,

our whole church family and our surrounding community. We will achieve that vision through:

In all we do, we will build stronger connections through our authentic, open, welcoming and inclusive commitment and spirit.

He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the LORD require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.

We must assess and address staffing and volunteer leadership needs to better inspire, connect and serve all.

To equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ.

We will better tell our story and keep the congregation connected to Dilworth through modernized, informative, meaningful and timely communications.

PSALM 19:14
Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight, O Lord, my rock and my redeemer.

We will understand and nurture the spiritual needs and growth of our flock and create opportunities for involvement and closer connections with God and across generations

ACTS 2: 44-47
All the believers were together and had everything in common. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people.

We will care for and reimagine our church campus, creating greater opportunities for gathering, learning, sharing and worshipping.

B And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Look! God’s dwelling place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God.
